Lead Development Representative

The sales team is responsible for driving new business, building customer loyalty, ensuring high product retention rates, supporting and promoting corporate strategy and initiatives, and developing and executing area business plans. Job Summary
VMware is seeking highly motivated individuals for Lead Development positions. This role will specialize in identifying qualified leads from marketing activity and cold calling to generate new pipeline for the sales force. This position requires excellent communication skills that result in meeting or exceeding the assigned qualified lead targets. You will need to interact with field sales, internal sales, marketing, partners, suspects and customers to maximize the total Customer Experience.
Job Responsibilities and Key Objectives
Follow up and qualify new prospects from marketing-generated leads
Prospect, qualify and develop new prospects to appointments
o Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest and obtain business requirements. Work closely with ISR/IAR’s to determine strategic approach
o Disseminate opportunities to appropriate ISR/IAM, educating rep as necessary about the opportunity
Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections
Build and develop initial customer relationships
Meet or exceed assigned lead metric goals
Manage and document lead cycle in VMware’s CRM system
Promote, develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of VMware products and services, industry trends, and competition
Produce reports as necessary
Requirements
A persistent, self-starter with a track record for success
Credible follow-up and cold calling experience to multiple executive levels within an organization
Minimum 1 year successful experience in Lead Development preferred
Technology or similar industry experience preferred
Skills required:
o Pre-call planning
o Outbound, proactive cold-calling
o Opportunity qualification and objection handling
o Structure and control a call
o Time and territory management
Proven track record achieving measurable lead development goals
Accurate data entry and management of leads in a CRM system
A team player with the ability to work in a high-energy sales team environment
Experience and success working within a lead quota, and MBO or commission structure
Excellent phone, listening, and writing skills
Ability to multi-task and operate successfully in a rapidly changing environment
The highest level of integrity
Proficient with standard corporate productivity tools (email, voicemail, MS Office)
A basic understanding of computing technology and comfortable discussing technology with customers
Sales training, Siebel and Salesforce.com experience a plus
College degree or equivalent work experience
