French Financial Accountant required with a minimum of 3 years experience in an international company. Mayo. West of Ireland.



KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preparation of all statutory books in compliance with local statutory requirements for the above entities.
Check that all entries are in line with the Local GAAP and maintain the local chart of accounts
Analyze all accounts and prepare monthly and year-end entries for statutory requirements as appropriate.
Prepare reconciliations for fiscal purposes; keep updated local fixed assets register.
Prepare reconciliation between local and US GAAP for all entities
Ensure compliance with VAT, tax and fiscal requirements:
Prepare and submit VAT & Intrastat returns, prepare payments, print mandatory books
Work with the VAT department to ensure the integrity of the VAT records.
Responsible for calculation of income taxes and A8 form preparation.
Ensure that all other local taxes are paid on time.
Preparation of deferred tax statements
Perform all monthly intercompany cross charges & ensure supporting backup is in place & invoices are generated for all charges.
Responsible for ensuring all documents are available for a tax inspection including AP invoices, VAT returns, statutory accounts, Tax fillings, Tax payments, Tax reconciliations, communications etc. All documents easily retrievable from local archive
Assist in the preparation of US GAAP accounts preparation and month end close.
Assist in the preparation of the monthly US GAAP accounts
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations review
Ensure accurate and timely month end close and corporate reporting.
Prepare all the info requested by internal and external Auditors.
Compile information packs required for US GAAP & local audit process including detailed analytical review and account analysis.
Compile Tax pack information in order to allow Tax provisions to be completed in accordance with local requirements.
Responsible for the EAM G&A Budgets and Forecasts.
Complete monthly review of the G&A actual v’s budget/forecast
Complete monthly G&A variance analysis
Work with the local team to fully understand all variances
Maintain and review costs for in relation to Audit and Tax fees
Work with the local team in preparing the G&A annual Plan/forecast and input into BW as required.
Responsible for Payroll - Ensure that all payroll requirements are fulfilled, including taxation, annual certification, payments, and journal posting.
Obtain an understanding of the payroll process and the associated accounting entries.
Work closely with the payroll team and be in a position to provide backup for payroll.
Ensuring the integrity of internal financial controls. - Co-ordinates with the accounts payable, accounts receivable and business units
Ensures that good accounting practices (US & Local GAAP) and corporate internal policies are followed.
Conduct regular internal control audits.
Participation in an EAM wide compliance project - Assist in information gathering for both fiscal & vat compliance for the EAM region including review of current T&E system, GL account usage and vat codes.
Review of all expenses in relation to conferences & congresses
Ensuring information collation & outcomes are clearly structured.
Cross-functional reviews & retraining where required
Participation in the implementation of rolling out a standard statutory accounts template and procedures for EAM
Requirements

Qualified Accountant
Minimum of 3 years experience working within a medium sized international company in the same position
Fluency in English and French is essential
Strong knowledge of accounting, payroll and fiscal systems
Experienced in preparation of Statutory Financial Statements and income tax returns
Knowledge of US GAAP :
Fluency in English and German
Work with internal and international team
Knowledge of SAP or other ERP system desirable
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Good analytical skills
Proactive nature
Available to travel at least quarterly to the markets served. ( Ability to travel at reasonably short notice for audits, tax inspections etc is essential )
