As a Technical Support Engineer within the Horizon Mobile engineering team you will provide technical support to both staff and customers who are implementing and running VMware Horizon Mobile and related products. This is an exciting opportunity to be part ofthe initial support team for the product which will include support of theon-device components of Horizon Mobile as well as the installation,configuration and usage of the Horizon Mobile Manager web application throughwhich enterprise IT admins operate. You will work closely with externalcustomers and consumers on the product as well as being embedded within theengineering team for providing deep technical understanding, analysis andsupport of the product.
Responsibilities
o Respond to customer inquiries, primarily via email and telephone
o Resolve any customer technical issues through diligent research,reproduction, and troubleshooting
o Work directly with staff in quality assurance, engineering, sales, marketing,operations, and administration to resolve problems
o Document all technical inquiries; develop and review content forknowledgebase
o Provide training or assistance to junior staff
o Participate in testing alpha and beta products
Requirements
o Experience in providing Linux technical support to enterprise customers or software customers
o Excellent interpersonal skills
o Fluent in spoken and written English
o Familiarity with the installation and configuration of Linux or VMwarevApp-based application deployments
o B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or equivalent workexperience
o Strong knowledge of Linux, Android, web technologies (apache/tomcat etc)
Highly Preferred Skills
o Hands on experience with VMware products
o Hands on experience with Android products
o Linux administration
o Experience in working with development organizations in a new productintroductions role
o Familiarity with operationof Linux-based Web servers
o Experience with VMware vApptechnologies are a strong plus
o Additional languages likeSpanish, French or Korean are a strong plus
