The area: Operations and IT, Data Center
The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We're diverse, upbeat, creative, team-oriented engineers and managers working on a daily basis to develop data centers that are changing the face of contemporary computing facilities.
The role: Data Center Facilities Technician
Working in a team under the direction of the Facilities Manager, you will interact with support groups at Google and with local contractors and vendors with a focus on operating, monitoring and maintaining the facilities infrastructure for our Data Center in Dublin.
Responsibilities:
* Take responsibility for the uptime and maintenance of water pumps and treatment systems, HVAC, UPS, generators, electrical distribution and Control and Monitoring Systems.
* Develop creative approaches to reducing operational costs, whilst improving efficiencies
* Operate, monitor, maintain and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment
* Track and trend operational characteristics
* Provide on-call cover
Requirements:
* Degree level qualification (or equivalent trade cert) in mechanical or electrical engineering prefered
* Experience in critical large scale facilities (Data Centre, Pharma, Medical or Electrical)
* Background in mechanical or electrical maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, water pumps and treatment, evaporator systems, UPS and generators
* Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to new process, procedures and equipment
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
* This position requires shift work that may include after hours, weekends and holidays.
