As a pre-sales consultant you have the chance to develop in a very broad spectrum, ranging from product expertise, customer interaction, communication and general IT market knowledge. Successful pre-sales consultants are highly demanded individuals with the possibility to develop a career in many different IT (and non-IT) functions.

Pre-sales is the function that provides technical product expertise to sales, customers & partners in Oracle. Oracle has a large community of pre-sales consultants globally EMEA that on a daily bases engage in tasks such as:

- Product presentations & demonstrations
- Advise customers & partners on how to best use Oracle products
- Respond to tenders
- Interact with product development about new releases, new functionality
- A significant portion of your time will also be used to stay up to date on the latest product releases & Oracle’s strategy. This is done through self-study, online training, and classroom training, depending on the topic.

PROFILE:
To fulfil the role of pre-sales consultant we are looking for individuals that match the following profile:

Technical:

- Works in an IT related role today (presales consultant, system or DB administrator, technical support, consulting, development)
Good understanding of one or more of the following database areas:
­- Relational Database Design & Management
­- High availability, clustering technologies
­- Information lifecycle management
­- Database application development
­- Data Warehouse
­- Business Intelligence

Experience with one or more of the following Oracle products is a plus:

­- Oracle Database R11g, and associated options such as:
­- Active DataGuard
­- Real Application Cluster (RAC)
­- Partitioning
­- Advanced Security
­- Other Oracle databases such as TimesTen, mySQL or Berkeley
­- Oracle Enterprise Manager
­- Oracle Warehouse Builder
­- Oracle Golden Gate
­- Oracle Data Intergration (ODI)
­- Oracle Application Express (Apex)
­- Any other Oracle products (including Middleware)

Non Technical:

- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Results orientation.
- Ability to work in (virtual) teams.
- Self motivated, you have the natural drive to learn and pick up new challenges
- Eagerness to learn!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Deliver high-quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations.
- Present and articulate Oracle product’s strengths, relative to competitors.
- Participate in the design, validation and presentation of Oracle software solutions.
- Assist account team in ensuring client satisfaction.
- Position Oracle Database solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of RFP’s and RFI’s.
- Manage time effectively.
- Quality Results Orientation

Experience / Technical / Professional knowledge

- 3-5 years prior business experience.
- 3 year minimum experience with Oracle Database
