Doctor - Medical Services
The Medical Services Department is responsible for Allianz Worldwide Care’s Treatment Guarantee process, large medical case management and provider relationships. It has to adopt aggressive cost containment strategies in order to optimise the company’s competitiveness in the marketplace and endure a good return for our stakeholders.
The position will be based in the Head Office in Dublin.

Key Responsibilities
Provision of Treatment Guarantees to members in accordance with the identified procedural guidelines.Conduct medical reviews in relation to claims adjudication.
Provide case management for complex and/or high cost cases.
Support the department’s efforts to achieve cost containment and achievement of the targeted loss ratio.
Assist with the maintenance and expansion of the panel of medical providers in certain regions. This includes the development of financially advantageous contractual relationships with these providers. The emphasis will be upon delivering competitive volume pricing, procedure pricing, package pricing, fixed discounts expressed as a percentage of the final bill etc.
Develop and maintain pharmacy and drug access relationships where containment and/or client service advantages cost will result.
Assist with the development of a panel of clinicians in locations justified by concentrations of AWC members.
Provide appropriate training, documentation and support to panel members and medical staff within AWC.
Ensure that all existing operating service standards are consistently met and devise strategies to improve these further.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with all departments and support them according to their needs.
The role will involve substantial collaboration with the following departments: Claims, Helpline and remote offices.
Any other ad hoc projects and administrative tasks as and when required.
Experience Required
Qualified Medical Doctor (2yrs exp)
Fluency in English and a second European language would be advantageous

Strong problem solving and prioritization skills.
